Al Kout Mall 2018

We checked out the new Al Kout Mall today, it's another mall with various stores and a cinema which has yet to open. There are name brand stores and unknown stores mixed together in a nice looking mall. Starbucks, Costa, Mossimo Dutti, Steven Madden, Deer & Dear, Fantasy World, Arby's and some weird stores like the one named Jennyfer?

A playing area for kids and a gamer store are coming soon as well as a karting area on the roof. The connecting area on the seaside is now call Souk Al Kout and is under construction for a while. I parked across the street although there is underground parking but there's so much traffic congestion in the area that I rather park and walk. It will be a few months before everything is opened.

Danube Home Kuwait

While shopping in Al Rai I came across this new furniture store and checked it out, I ended up shopping for three hours and furnishing my living room, they had really decent prices and I finally found a sofa unit with recliners. I picked one of the silver chandeliers pictured below.

If I had a house with an outside area I would definitely buy one of the lovely gazebos they have to offer

The delivery guys were great as well, they finished their job and cleaned up afterwards.

You can pretty much furnish your whole house from start to finish. You can check out more on their IG @danubehomekuwait

Modern Art Museum of Kuwait

I've seen this museum since I moved to Kuwait but never got a chance to visit until I happened to pass by and the doors were actually opened, it was established in 2003.
"The Museum of Modern Art is an art museum in Kuwait City, Kuwait. It hosts a collection of modern Arab and international art. The building has always served as an educational institution; it was built in 1939 to house the Madrasa Al Sharqiya, or Eastern School in which generations of prominent Kuwaitis studied, including the current Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad"
The 'Wings of Mexico' piece by Jorge Marin is beautiful, you can find more info here
I love old doors and these door knockers are rare and beautiful, just imagine who used them in the past

It's located across from Sharq Mall, with weekday hours of 9:30 to 1:30 pm although I caught the doors open in the early evening, the listed phone number is 2292-94444

Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Center

We took a family trip to the cultural center, first hurdle was getting in, there are three stations by three lines but you have to wait until the first person finishes in order to move which is weird and doens't help traffic flow. The entrance fee is 3KD adults and 2 KD children with other pricing for different situations which you can find on their website.

It has huge open areas which will be nice in the cooler months
Really awesome displays and interactive activities for the kids, expect other kids to just push in while yours is playing

Unfortunately a lot of the computerized displays were not working

The ones that were working were in both English and Arabic

It looks like some of the items in the Islamic area are on loan from the Tareq Rajab museum

Overall a great family trip and a must visit for people in Kuwait. You can find mroe information on their website
