Learn Pointed Pen Calligraphy

Learn Pointed Pen Calligraphy
With Charmaine of Everly Calligraphy

We are thrilled to be hosting two pointed pen calligraphy workshops this November with Charmaine, of Everly Calligraphy.

What is pointed pen calligraphy?
Pointed pen calligraphy is often called English or Latin calligraphy, and is written with a steel nib that is dipped into ink.

What will you learn?
The introductory class is perfect for the beginner, as we will cover the basics of pointed pen (English) calligraphy. We will cover the fundamentals of materials, learn basic strokes, letter forms and then connect letters together, all while receiving step-by-step guidance. You will leave with a basic working knowledge of calligraphy.

In the second class, we will take your new found skills even further. We will cover more advanced techniques, like writing uppercase letters, writing on dark paper, using gouache, spacing and flourishing.

When are the classes?
The first introductory class is being held on
Saturday, November 7th, 9:30am-1:30pm. This class is 35KD.

The second class, which is more advanced, will be held on Saturday, November 14th, 9:30am-1:30pm. This class is 35KD.

If you sign up for both classes, you will receive a 5KD credit to the Mubarkiya shop, as well as a private pointed pen open studio with Charmaine to go over your progress!

To ensure everyone receives individual attention, class size is limited, so reserve your place in class soon! To do so, please visit either the Mubarkiya shop or Yadawi in Jabriya and place a deposit to reserve your seat.

Where are the classes?
