This is an interview about Saudi children left behind by their student fathers. There are three websites, Saudi children left behindKuwaiti children left behind and Qatari children left behind. They also have Facebook pages for more interaction.

It's a taboo subject but it happens all the time and everyone turns a blind eye to it.

Kuwaiti divorces wife after naked Video

A Kuwaiti man divorced his new wife after he saw her naked on the internet although she was covering her face, a Saudi newspaper reported on Sunday.

The husband was surfing some websites when he was shocked to see his wife totally naked before their marriage eight months ago, ‘Sada’ said.

The wife denied that she was in the film but the husband went ahead and divorced her, telling her he knows her body very well.

“In court, he accused his wife of being involved in vice before their marriage.

“He accused her family of covering up for her and asked for their punishment.”

---Dayuum! I've always wondered what would happen if those naked dancing chicks were recognized.

Broken Furniture

As I've started a new chapter in life I will be moving sometime soon but I have furniture that's not coming with me so what do I do with it? I hate to leave stuff behind and expect the haris or someone to discard it but moving itself is an expensive task not to mention having to figure out what do with junk. I live in a ghetto anyways so it's not like broken furniture left by the garbage would be an eyesore. I want to do the right thing and get rid of it properly, anyone have any ideas?

Aftermath of the Color Fest

The color fest was held on November 21 in which people threw colored powder all over each other. These are pictures from Nov 22 when I stopped to take some pictures of the sea. The walk path is covered in bright pink powder, it even covers the rocks and cats.

It looks like a murder scene with all of the bright red/pink powder everywhere. I doubt the powder is safe for the environment and at the very least the organizers should have left the area as they found it. Everyone has to walk and run through the pinkness and it gets all over shoes and clothing. My kitty friend left a pink ring around my pants while he was rubbing against me leg.

Hoodlums in McDonalds

I had to wait around in Surra for a meeting so I took my laptop and settled in at McDonalds. Since there is no seating downstairs one must go up to find a table and each morning there is a gang of teenage boys waiting until the last minute to go to school. This time there were around 10 of them smoking. The whole area was full of of smoke, I just gave them a dirty look and of course they started rattling off in Arabic.

I went downstairs and asked if smoking was allowed, it isn't but the staff has told the hoodlums numerous times to stop and of course the teenagers just say something smart and do as they please. I'm sure the staff are intimated by the squad as I would be. The new generation doesn't have any respect anymore as you can see by the above pictures, that is how they left the area. When I came to Kuwait women were showed more respect, if a female was in the ministry they would make sure she didn't have to stand among the hoards of single men.

As I've found out recently when visiting the ministries that is no longer true. I was the first person waiting 25 minutes for the manager who had gone to pray. As I waited a bunch of men gathered around and once they saw the manager coming up the stairs they almost ran me over to get to his office first. In Mishref immigration the copy area is so small and I had to wade through the sea of bachelors to try and get copies. I was groped on accident and it was really uncomfortable to be there, so if anyone has to go to the ministry please, please make your copies before you get there!!!!!!

Kuwaiti woman wants to marry taxi Driver

A Kuwaiti woman was shown in a YouTube film that went viral on regional social networks to appeal for Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, to help her marry a British taxi driver with whom she said was in love.

Salwah Al Mutairi, wearing the traditional Arabian abaya and head cover, said she was visiting London and got into a taxi and met the driver, called Khorsheed.

“I asked him if he is a Muslim and he said no but I am sure he is Muslim. I fell in love with this man. I want to marry him and have babies,” she said.

“I am ready to pay him KD100 (Dh1,300) a month forever and any sum for the marriage contract. I ask[ed] Prince William to help [me] find that driver so I [can] marry him.”

Mahboula is a dirty Area

Due to the high cost of rent I had to move back to Mahboula area from the city area and after a few days I realized it is ghetto and a scary place for families to live. I took the apartment directly from the Kuwaiti owner which meant I avoided paying the illegal finder fees to the haris and/or company who doesn't do anything but give you an address and expect half month rent as a payment for doing nothing. I was told it was a family building and after moving in and taking more time to see who lives in the building I saw that there were a few families but also some shady characters.

I took a drive around the area and saw that the area is a dumping ground for construction companies as you see from the pyramid style dumping heaps. There are abandoned cars and crap everywhere, I didn't see this area in the 'Kuwait through our eyes' video!

It is also an area full of bachelor laborers who stare at women to a point that it becomes a little frightening. I don't let my daughter or housemaid go down at all even though the bakala is two feet from my car. I don't understand how it is ok for family areas to be swamped with bachelors to the point of it becoming dangerous. With the prices of rent being more than 50% of people's income there is no other alternative but to go to these kinds of areas to try and catch a break. Although I hate moving, it may be coming up as soon as I can find something else.
